Transforming the community

The Stalled Spaces scheme helps local communities come together to transform derelict or neglected pieces of land, and also create community gardens and growing grounds.

WEGGA has recently been instrumental in beautifying a roadside verge in the west end of Paisley, removing overgrowth and planting bulbs and making improvements to green spaces and landscaping at the West End Community Centre.

Wegga has only been able to achieve this with vital connections with many local community partners, notably Roar (Reaching Older Adults in Renfrewshire); Renfrewshire Council; Community Services; Linstone Housing Association and Pacific Building Ltd.  All came together on 8 September 2016 to celebrate the successful first phase of this Stalled Spaces project.
